- PSTN connectivity

Intertex develops and markets hardware products - SIP capable firewalls. We do not provide any VoIP services. The Intertex Internet Gate can provide you with global SIP connectivity for free. Combine the Internet Gate with VoIP services from different providers to get full PSTN connectivity!

The Intertex Internet Gate is very flexible, enabling you to connect to the PSTN using ITSP's (Internet Telephony Service Providers) in different ways. With our products together with ITSP services you can setup dialplans, do least cost routing, setup virtual foreign offices etc. Below (right column) you’ll find two examples explaining how the Internet Gate can be used, and (left column) a guide showing you how to get PSTN connectivity.

If you received your Internet Gate from your operator, please follow the instructions given by this party. The guide assumes that your Internet Gate is not tied to any specific operator.

With the Internet Gate you can get PSTN connectivity in at least two ways:
(A) using the Intertex SIP Switch software addition
or
(B) without the SIP Switch software
by entering the ITSP information in each client you wish to use.

PSTN connectivity with the SIP Switch software addition

With the SIP Switch you can do least cost routing, setup short extension no., dialplans, voice mail services and more. You can use one single ITSP account for all of your phone calls or use multiple, e.g. the cheapest/best ITSP account in specific areas or contries.

What you need
Before getting into details, a brief description of what you need. What you must have is the (1) Intertex Internet Gate with the (2) SIP Switch software addition installed, (3) one or several SIP phones and/or SIP clients (examples of SIP phones/clients) and (4) one or several ITSP accounts (here is a list of ITSP's).

The registration process
When setting up PSTN connectivity using the SIP Switch it is important to note that:

(1) It is the SIP Switch that (pretends to be a SIP client and) registers on the ITSP account, and (2) the SIP phone/client you wish to use, registers on the Internet Gate (not the ITSP account).
